VISUALIZING
EMOTIONS
The goal of this project is to visualize the emotions of two movies by the same director and create posters with dynamic compositions. The posters should feel visually distinct from each other, but together, they function as a series. The emotions I try to communicate are free and passionate, and depressed and tortured.

SETTING
TYPE
For this project, I designed three distinct layouts for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. The goal is to emphasize typographic hierarchy through the use of spatial or graphic cues, in order to encourage read- ing and express the organization of content. Each composition emphasizes different elements and subordinating the others.

SPREAD
DESIGN
For this project, we were asked to choose an art movement and design spreads relating to the movement. I chose the Bauhaus Art Movement. I used red, yellow, and blue as the theme colors, which are also the colors for the Bauhaus Period. The spreads include a cover page, and two other pages introducing the Bauhaus Art Movement.

PATTERNS
FROM A
LETTERFORM
For this project, we were asked to create a dynamic pattern using one single letterform. The pattern must incorporate at least two different types of contrast, such as the change of style, weight, posture, case, or width. For the pattern I designed, I used the contrast within the character and the overlap, rotation, and repetition to create an interesting figure/ground relationship, making an effective pattern.
